Visiting Haiti is for sure an experience I will remember. It was rough, and overwhelming, but it was one of the most heart filling and rewarding things I've ever done. I read "if something scares but excites you at the same time you should do it" and this was something that was way out of my comfort zone, but being there is breath taking, both in a good and bad way. The people, even though they live in such harsh conditions, are some of the most welcoming, happiest and kindest people you'll ever encounter. They're so thankful for their lives and what they have. The kids were my favorite part, even though we couldn't understand each other I knew that they were happy to see me and I was happy to see them. These people struggle everyday with things that are so easy to fix here in America. I've never been so grateful. I've never felt my heart so full but so broken at the same time. These people deserve so much more. And I'm not going to say me coming really made an impact or not, but it left a huge impact on me. Thanks for welcoming me Haiti, until next time ❤ Ali Bea Blackburn
